WHO ARE WE?
DFA Rochester is an organization founded upon the grassroots spirit born in Howard Dean’s campaign to take back our country. We have a year-long history as Rochester For Dean—the local group who concentrated on putting Howard Dean in the White House. While we are mainly Democrats, we welcome everyone.
WHAT ARE WE?
DFA Rochester is an organization of grassroots leaders who strive to take back our country—one issue at a time…one neighborhood at a time. We work hard to support progressive, honest candidates. We perform community-enriching service through DFA Corps events. We are taking up residence on our town committees. Most important we are both individual voices and a strong collective of voices. Our voices are being heard!
WHY ARE WE DOING THIS?
Many of us are here because we wanted to stay connected to Howard Dean and his idea of taking back our country. Many of us are here in reaction to the current Bush Administration policies. We believe there is a better way. We believe our leaders should be honest with the citizens of our country. Maybe most important, we are doing this because we can. We believe in true democracy where the voice of the individual is as strong and powerful as any other voice. We therefore seek to both register voters and educate them.
WHERE ARE WE?
Quite simply we are wherever you are. DFA Rochester serves the greater Rochester area which includes our very active Livingston County, NY group. We are also linked to groups statewide. At present our meetings take place monthly in Rochester and Geneseo. We encourage you to join us and plan meetings in your local area!
WHEN?
Quite honestly we are active 24/7. Through our message boards, we share news and information on how to be active.

HOW ARE WE TAKING BACK OUR COUNTRY?
We are taking back our country by taking back our neighborhoods. We strongly encourage our members to join their local Democratic committees. We ask that our members actively support progressive candidates through volunteer time and monetary contributions. We ask our members to consider running for office. We ask you join us for our DFA Corps events that seek to brighten the lives of local people. |
